Hi!

I'm looking to major in music education, but I'm a little worried because I've heard that flute is really competitive. I'm a pretty decent flute player with NYSSMA evaluation scores of 98 (level 6) and I've been accepted into area all state (but not conference all state) and
other regional groups. I am also a strong vocal student and have a relatively high gpa (97.6). I was just wondering if anyone out there could give me some general information about music education acceptance rates for flute players. Some of the schools I'm looking at are:

Hartt
SUNY Fredonia
SUNY Potsdam
Temple (Boyer school of music)
Ithaca
Boston University

Also, does anyone know anything about Mansfield, Nazereth, and/or Roberts Wesleyan? Since they are lesser known schools for music are they easier to get into? How good are the music ed programs?
