Music Education (Viola) schools

<p>My daughter was accepted to some schools SUNY's Potsdam, Fredonia, UDelaware, Susquehanna...still waiting on Ithaca and BU. She/we are really impressed with Fredonia all around. As her mom i am a bit concerned about the traveling from Long Island to Fredonia but like everything about the school. I read one of the posts about the terrible winters and how hard it is to get to Buffalo airport,etc really scared me off a bit!!...anyone have knowledge of this or first hand traveling from LI? Also, does anyone have knowledge/opinions about MusEd at UDelaware? Thanks to you all.</p>

<p>We know allot of kids at Fredonia from Long Island (where we are actually) and it’s not as scary as you think. For one thing there are buses from the school to Long island for the breaks and I’ve never hear of one cancel. The buses go to Huntington I think and you just pick them up at the bus and then drop them off afterwards. So you really only have to drive up and back at in August and May. The winters are as bad there as ithaca, rochester, potsdam or any of the upstate schools. The kids seem to survive fine. My son is at Crane and the winter didn’t concern him at all.</p>

<p>I’m taking my daughter up to Fredonia for a visit on the 21st to meet the flute prof. If she chooses Fredonia my biggest problem will be the fact that both kids will be eight hours from me in basically opposite directions :-))</p>
