I want to continue taking piano lessons in college, so I was wondering if Georgetown offers music lessons, how good they are, and if lessons have an additional cost.

I'm in the exact same boat!

At the Gaap weekend, I talked with the head of the music dept. and he said that some teachers would probably give private lessons. He wasn't sure of the cost though. He also suggested the Levine school of music in DC, which is a short subway ride away from campus. They give private piano lessons. He told me it's probably very expensive. It's worth looking into though.

If it costs too much, I don't wanna do 'em... lol.

But I at least want to be able to practice. Does Georgetown have any rooms with instruments (piano in my case) that are available to all students?

The guy said that they do have practice rooms. I saw a few in the New North building with a piano. Also, a girl i talked to said that there are practice rooms in the McCarthy/Reynolds/Kennedy dorm rooms. I think those are sophomore dorms.
Also, there may be some in the performing arts center (which is newly built and REALLY nice).... but i'm not sure about that... just speculating.

good luck!!!!

There are private practice rooms in the ground floor of Reynolds. Can't say for sure about McCarthy/Kennedy.

Yeah I wanna know about lessons as well. I plan to learn the piano while at G'Town!!
