I am thinking about doing a dual degree - poly sci with music industry. How impacted is the music industry major? How hard is it to get into Thornton if I am already at USC? How hard is it to get the classes?

The music industry major alone is either 94 or 96 units so either plan on taking 20 units a semester for 4 years or taking summer classes for more than one summer or staying another year.

I have a similar question! I’m thinking about a double major for Biochemistry and Philosophy. Is this even possible, because one is a BA and one is a BS? If so, is it humanly possible to graduate in 4 years?

^I think it is called “Dual Degree” when you earn both a BA and a BS.

Hm, I thought that dual degrees were less intensive than double majors. As in, I would take less classes in each subject area for a dual degrees. I stand corrected. Dang, I thought the BA and BS were close enough to count for a double major.
I’m guessing a second bachelor’s degree is for those who return to college and redo all their GEs AND major requirements?

I think you are right. A second bachelor’s sounds like it is when someone goes back and does it all again.

If you actually earn two bachelor’s degrees (BA and BS, for example) do you get two diplomas at graduation, one diploma with two degrees on it, or do you get only one degree of your choice, the other being one that is on the transcript only?

"http://www.usc.edu/dept/publications/cat2008/schools/college/undergraduate.html" Maybe I’m looking at an “Interdepartmental Major”? I’m still confused.

“A second bachelor’s degree requires a minimum of 32 additional units.” I guess you wouldn’t be able to do that without an extra year.

According to [USC ARR : Diplomas : Diplomas FAQ](http://www.usc.edu/dept/ARR/diplomas/faq.html), the double major gets one diploma but the second bachelor gets two.

I have an extra year on scholarship to do something with as I can graduate in three years with a BA right now. The extra year is my fourth year. I am trying to decide- - graduate in three years or graduate in 4 years.

Interesting that there is a small certificate given for a minor. Thanks for the FAQ
