Admissions_Daniel, is there an updated link for information on the music major at JHU? When I clicked on the link (from the list of advsiors for majors), I got a bad link notice. Thanks in advance.

PS- Wouldn't a History of Music major be sort of a natural for Hopkins? hint, hint.

I’m not sure which link you’re talking about but as far as I know, there’s no music major at Hopkins on the Homewood campus. The Peabody Institute, which is a part of the University but about a mile south of here, offers Bachelors of Music degrees and you can apply to be a dual-degree student. Hopkins students can also take classes at Peabody or get a music minor from the school of Arts and Sciences. See here for more information from Peabody and here for more info on music opportunities.

And of course, if you’re looking for something completely different or we actually have a Music major here that I don’t know about, sorry!

Unfortunately I do not see a History of Music program being created at Hopkins. Maybe at Peabody, but I don’t think there would be enough interest in such a program at Homewood. That’s my opinion … who knows what will happen in the future as the Humanities continues to expand.
