<p>I’m not sure which link you’re talking about but as far as I know, there’s no music major at Hopkins on the Homewood campus. The Peabody Institute, which is a part of the University but about a mile south of here, offers Bachelors of Music degrees and you can apply to be a dual-degree student. Hopkins students can also take classes at Peabody or get a music minor from the school of Arts and Sciences. Scroll down to music, click on it. Without the info from the bad link, can’t know if music major is based at Peabody or A&S; I just get an error-bad link message.</p>

<p>What do you/JHU think of a Hisdtory of Music major/minor? Such an excellent history dept plus Peabody, seems a natural (to me anyway).</p>
<p>Unfortunately I do not see a History of Music program being created at Hopkins. Maybe at Peabody, but I don’t think there would be enough interest in such a program at Homewood. That’s my opinion … who knows what will happen in the future as the Humanities continues to expand.</p>
