Music majors and admissions?!!?

Is it typical of Pomona to look more at your audition/recorded CD in the music department (if you are a prospective music major) than let's say...your standardized test scores? IT would make sense to me, but i'm not sure about that whole thing, since you need talent to get in. But, how highly do they regard academics (i mean, i KNOW it is a nutz school to get into, but, do they give potential music majors a smidge of leeway? what's the deal with all of that)

Thanks!

I can't talk exactly on music - but artistic extracurriculars are taken in to account, especialy in the early addmision process. I myself didn't have the most competitive grades (pretty low by Pomona standards) but a mixture of a good essay and some films I made got me in.

if your SAT scores are in line such that they can tell you can handle the workload at the school, then the majority of your candidacy will fall on the other soft factors of your application...in this case, your music talent. whatever you submit for music, make sure its damn good.
