I auditioned at the school of music this past saturday, and after I looked at my music app status this morning I noticed the overall status changed to "A decision has been made regarding your application. You will be receiving information via mail shortly."

Has anyone else seen this? I'm just wondering if they put this for everyone or if it's just admitted or just rejected, etc. I've already been accepted to the University but being such an amazing music school, this would be an amazing option for me.

My son’s status changed at same time. No word yet. It said mailed shortly. I emailed music admissions to ask if shortly means days or weeks. Good luck, please post when u hear. Btw, my son auditioned for trumpet.

Thank you! I assumed it would be included in an official acceptance letter as has been our very limited experience. Like so many others, we are anxious to start making the final decision and need all the pertinent info :)

It was not included in the acceptance letter for FSU, I believe it comes separately. Same deal with South Carolina, they state it will be by the first week of April…more waiting, ugh!

Yes - well, not me personally, but my son did. The FSU acceptance arrived Saturday, we live in Orlando so it’s not exactly pony express from Tallahassee…

We just received acceptance for D for fall. I guess I missed the part of the presentation that explained how scholarship notifications were handled. Since it was not included in the acceptance, looks like we continue the waiting game…

I live in South FL, I hope I only have a delay because of the distance, not the fact that they might have sent rejections and acceptances seperately…

Thank you! I think FSU is her first choice but UF is a close second based on professor and what we know about a scholarship. With Bright Futures and Florida Prepaid, it is hard to consider going out of state for undergrad. We were both impressed with the FSU program, so I hope they come throught with a competitive offer or it will feel like leaving money on the table!

How’s the decision process going for you all?

Son has a really nice music scholarship offer from UF in-hand and even though his awesome Dad graduated from that fine institution of higher learning and we are FL residents, will more than likely be rejecting them. His top two choices are U South Carolina and FSU, he has already been accepted to both music programs, so it really will come down to scholarship offers. I believe his first choice would be Carolina - they do lower you to in-state tuition with any music scholarship, and if they offer something decent, I’d say that’s where he ends up…but FSU is not making it easy, they are a fine school with a great faculty and it’s in FL!

blerns3 - we all hate waiting but take heart in the fact that we live closer to Tallahassee than Orlando and just got the letter today. We are keeping our fingers crossed for good news tomorrow for you! And then the scholarship wait begins…

Oboe performance and her app status still says Music, NFA at last check this afternoon.

I think the University of Texas is the only out of state school she sort of regrets not applying to since the oboe professor is considered to be quite good. UF is comfortable and a wonderful professor and with a scholarship the one to beat right now financially.

I also have a scholarship waiting for me at UF (and UCF), but the professors and the music program as a whole at FSU, Miami, Michigan, and Manhattan School of Music, all of which I’m waiting for decisions from, are in leagues way above UF and UCF
