So i've already been accepted to USC but i still haven't found out about my major, music industry. I'm just wondering if anyone who applied to the school of music (music industry majors in particular) has heard anything yet?

I also applied to Music Industry and haven’t heard anything yet. I haven’t actually been accepted to USC yet tho ha

My S was accepted to USC and Thornton in January (with the group notified for scholarships). His major is composition. They do not require an audition, although as their website states, the composition applicant may be contacted for an on-campus interview. S did send in the required CD and scores of course. He also had the optional off-campus interview with his regional admissions officer in December. My point is that the composition majors do not have an audition. Therefore their admittance is different than those requiring a performance audition.

Sorry- this probably doesn’t help the original OP.

Wishing he best to all of the music candidates! I hope we get to hear you at a music event next year on the USC campus!

o ok thanks!! music industry didn’t require an audition either so idk what’s taking them so long… lol but hopefully i’ll hear back soon. and adam, hang in there! i’m sure you’ll get your letter soon. and hopefully we’ll both get into the music industry program! =]

D just accepted to Thornton about 3 weeks after live audition!

The new Thornton Popular Music major has now become known across the country. This article tells the story of two of the freshmen selected for the inaugural class.

threetreasurs, congrats to you and D on acceptance to Thornton!

And to answer your comment on the Stats thread, your D has an automatic Presidential since she is NMF. Should she decide to attend USC, she needs to designate USC her first choice school with NM by the deadline (I think May 1–you should check other threads on this board). It is guaranteed, so congrats again!

Thanks and great news!
