Music recommendations

I like to listen to music on my laptop to fall asleep at night. I usually prefer to listen to movie soundtracks, such as the Kingdom of Heaven or Braveheart or Lord of the Rings soundtracks. Are there any other good ones like that that you guys would recommend?

Listen to
"Slaves Shall Serve" By Behemoth. I PROMISE YOU you'll fall asleep. Seriously listen to it. Now. NOW! Seriously!

Hannibal soundtrack is good.
Also, try the soundtrack for the Civilization 4. They have like all classical music and stuff.
Speaking of classical music, listen to some wagner, it is galvanizing!

Beirut is amazing.

Whoa, great to know other people on here appreciate Beirut.

Anyway, I've been listening to a lot of Wolf Parade, The National, Neutral Milk Hotel, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Decemberists, Arcade Fire, and New Pornographers lately.

Classical wise, I really like Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky and a lot of random Bass solos by Dragonetti, Paganini, Bottesini, Meyer, and Eccles.

Beirut has been my obsession for the last like, two weeks! Arcade Fire is amazing. Same with Wolf Parade and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. I also like Cold War Kids, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Beulah.

Garden State and Into the Wild both have good soundtracks.

you only want soundtracks, though? No band music?

Perfect Timing - Orba Squara

Its the song they use for the iphone commercial, the real/full version

Into the wild soundtrack

eddie vedder is <3

I generally listen to band music, but if I listen to lyrics or anything up-tempo I have a hard time falling asleep. So yeah, I guess anything laid-back and chill. Doesn't have to be a soundtrack.

Thanks for the recommendations so far, though.

laid-back and chill?

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92

get that album, it's about 70 minutes of sublime ambient electronic soundscapes.

I second Garden State.

Sigur Ros!!!

Whoever said Beirut and Sigur Ros...yesss! (:

dirty three - she has no strings
godspeed you! black emperor - f#a#infinity

basically, anything that's post-rock is awesome =)

oh, and:

dragon quest viii soundtrack (i <3 this game, and the music is wonderfully composed)

For sleeping ummmmm Mogwai, Boards of Canada, Sigur Ros, etc

the Grey's Anatomy sountracks are good...

Fourth'd Sigur Ros.
Seconded that particular Aphex Twin album (I've gone to sleep listening to it).
I have one song of Board of Canada, and it is definitely sleeping type music. It's good (Soylent Night).

These are all recommendations for sleeping.

Rock: Kaiser Chiefs.
Electro: Justice. Digitalism.
Post-Rock: Hot Chip. Battles.
Sleeping: Sigur Ros. Mogwai. Bonnie Prince Billy.
