I was wondering if it is easier to get a music composition scholarship than to play the violin?

steph…what are you talking about? Are you planning to apply to college as a music major? In some programs, you will be required to audition on SOME instrument even for composition majors.

In most cases, music scholarships are based on the strength of your audition (relative to the others who audition).

You might want to post this question on the music major forum here…many knowledgable folks there.

There’s a music major forum? Do you know where that is?

Go to the main page of the listings by clicking on “College Confidential” above. You will see near the bottom of the list a section for Majors…music major is in there.
