I am embarking on my senior year, and in doing so am also approaching the deadline for many scholarships. However, the main scholarships I am relying on are instrumental scholarships. I am a proficient musician on the trumpet, clarinet, and IN percussion. I am accelerated on the oboe. And I am an advanced musician on the flute and piccolo. I marched with my schools 2 time State Qualified marching band on flute for 3 years, and have spent the last year and this year in the drum line on Bass 3 as section leader. I do plan on majoring in music education and performance and am wondering what the scholarship opportunities are for me. I really don’t have a place to start looking and am just looking for a push in the right direction. Any help is appreciated!
Your best scholarship opportunities will come right from the colleges. They will be based on the strength of your audition into the music education programs.
If you’re low income, also look into the Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship.
