Did anyone apply for a music scholarship to Case? My son did (was accepted for CS with $25K merit) but at the same time offered direct admission to the music school. Since he did not apply as a music (violin) major we were surprised and also proud of him of course!
I would HOPE this would give him some additional music scholarship, too, but I guess we’ll have to see. I don’t know when those are released. @bopper ?
Case has Arts Achievement Awards
A small number of scholarships of $10,000 per year are available to students who exhibit excellence in either music or studio art, regardless of whether they will major in those areas. All students who audition for the B.A. in Music or the B.S. in Music Education will be considered for these highly competitive scholarships, and students not wishing to major in music can also be considered for an Arts Achievement Award in music by submitting an online audition video (see our Application Procedures page).
@TytoAlba students used to have fly in person to t Case , audition for that award. Its quite hard to win additional money on top of $25K award, to be honest. They save the music awards for students who do not qualify for those jumbo academic merit awards, I believe. If he is a violin major, maybe, but if he is wavering or a minor, its hard to win that. Is he a violin major or a minor? My son auditioned in person, did not win additional music $$, but also got into the music college on his instrument, but ended up not majoring or minoring in music, after playing in two wind ensembles in freshman year. He just developed other interests during college, although he still has a hobby level interest in music.
