Music school admissions at Indiana University?

I already heard from the main school that I've been admitted, and I have an audition Feb 4. I was just wondering if anyone would know how long it generally takes to find out admission to the music school.

My son didn't find out until close to April, I believe. (I would have to look it up to be sure, but I'm out of town right now, so I can't do that.) He wasn't able to go for an audition, but sent in a tape in November.

Just curious but what instruments?

I'm applying on cello =)

Hmm...I was hoping to hear earlier...I hate how long I have to wait for a decision from ANYWHERE for music.

My son auditioned yesterday....my husband went with him, and they're not due back until tomorrow (we're in NJ, and they drove). I thought my husband said they were told they would hear in 2-3 weeks. I'll find out more when they get back and post here.

Thank you very much! And good luck to your son!

My son plays trumpet. I am home now and checked his acceptance letter. It was dated April 5, 2005. However, I know the trumpet instructor called him at least a week before that to tell him.

Some students may find out earlier. My son's tape was not that good, and they had to call his private lessons teachers before deciding to admit him, so perhaps that made it take longer.

Good luck, cellogirl!

Hi Cellogirl -

My son came home from the audition with a brochure from the Trombone and Euphonium faculty, which stated that the Music Admissions people start processing the applications and audition reviews right after the audition dates. It said that notification would come 2-3 weeks later.

Good luck to you!

Hi, I got my acceptance just three weeks after the violin audition, which was Feb 4 of last year, but the (pathetically small... which is why I went elsewhere) scholarship offer didn't come til April 1.
Best of luck!

My boyfriend auditioned on January 4th and found out by January 30th of this year that he was accepted. Good luck!
