If i play the violin, and wanted to send in a supplemental music submission to the music department for them to critique it and send it to the adcom.... how much will it increase my chances? im not planning to be a music major..but im actually doing CALS bio. Im not the next mozart..but i personally believe i show some talent and dedication.. THANKS GUYS!

it will increase your chances by 17.625% If it's good it will help a little. Get your music teachers to listen to your CD before you send it in. Show variety.

you're joking about the 17.625% right

sure he's joking.

there's a lot of controversy over sending music recordings. some people believe that it helps; others believe that it won't do any good unless you are really, really good. but i guess it won't hurt to try.

hmmm...anyone else have any info about musical supplementals?!... im thinking about asking a music professor..but dunno :(

buuuuumppp

a professor where? I'm meeting with a professor i'm friendly with who's an ethnomusicologist in the music department tuesday, to chat. I'll slip in your question.

chair_music@cornell.edu, (607) 255-3671

to ask him general questions (when should i turn it in, blah blah).. but dont feel comfortable slipping in the question (how much will it increase my chances of admission)

i'm looking at this list of professors/lecturers/etc.. but don't know who to email about it

here's the list.. will you tell me if the professor you are familiar with is on here? thanks sparticus
