If I select that I would like to send a music tape, and then I decide not to send it in because I do not have time or I feel that I am not ready(or that it might hurt my application since I am “world class”, should I contact the school (this include HYP, Standford, etc.) with a letter?

well, if you're "world class," by all means, send it in!

but i think that's not what you meant.

i don't think that it necessarily warrants a letter, since that seems too formal. maybe try calling up the admissions offices?

i'm thinking your "world class" means you're not living in the US....eh?

Hah...thanks for replying though. I mean that I am not a professional musician; but I take private lessons on the violin and piano, an dI was going to send a music supplement in, but I may not be ready to do that until early or late febuary. Since I do live in Canada I t may take two weeks ontop of that to get there. So...do you think a big chunk of my application could rest on the supplements, especially if my first essay on the common app was about music?
