Music vs. Academic Classes

So I went down to my counselor yesterday and he told me that I had to drop one of my classes for next year because I had too many. I currently have 2 AP historys and 2 music classes and have to drop either one of the music classes or 1 of the historys. I'm planning to study political science or something like that- not music. Here's my schedule without history or music-

AP Calc
AP Chem
AP English
And I'm not changing any of these (chem is 2 periods). So the others are

AP US gov
AP World
orchestra
jazz

I'm leaning towards dropping gov since it's something that I already know a lot about and is pretty easy at my school. My counselor was pretty unhelpful as to what I should do, saying that some colleges would see taking two music classes as a committment to an EC while others might see it as taking a schedule that was too easy for senior year. Oh and I'm looking at top 30 Universities and some liberal art schools possibly too. Thanks in advance to anyone who responds: any thoughts would be helpful! Also do you think that I should contact the admissions office at a few schools I'm thinking about or should I not bother them with this stuff? Thanks again

Oh and also I should say that I’m pretty good at my instrument but not good enough for majoring or anything like that- although if there were opportunities to do so I’d like to possibly continue playing in some form in college.

Drop an academic class and take it at a local college for college credits instead! -shot-
