I thought I heard something about non-music majors not being able to participate in Northwestern's music ensembles. Is this true? If so, are there any ensembles for non-music majors? Also, I was wondering what music lessons are like for music minors.

ummm as far as i know there are plenty of opportunities for non music majors, you can definately join the basketball band and marching band. as for actual ensembles, check out the website, but my friend who's there is majoring in engineering and he is in a concert band class for non majors.

there are definitely opportunities. i know for a fact that there is an orchestra for non-majors called philharmonia. i'm not sure about wind ensembles/band, but i'm pretty sure you can try out for the marching band as well and other wind ensembles by just auditioning.
