music

not being able to download any music on the campus network is killing me. if anybody has any suggestions/advice, please private message me if necessary.

anybody else feel the pain?

If you want to legally download music, you could always use Ruckus. You can only stream it on you computer, but at least that is something!

Technically, it's not streaming. You actually have the file on your computer; it's just DRM-protected. It's fine for me, since I can listen to albums in their entirety on my computer even though I don't like it enough to shell out the money.

can you upload the music to itunes/ipod with this method?

There's some Russian website that you buy songs from like iTunes, so it's totally legit. Its a LOT cheaper than itunes, though.

There's a small fee before you can upload it to mp3 players.

Ruckus is not compatible with Macs, or iTunes/iPod on any platform. You will need a Windows Media Player compatible MP3 player, and it must support the certain type of rights-management that Ruckus uses (and I believe the Zune is not one of them.)
