I’m relatively new here (note the posts number), and I’m trying to somwhat familiarize myself annnd well since music is a GIGANTIC part of my life, I am trying to find out what kind of music you guys and gals like. Just for fun, to get to know each others tastes a bit.

Me…I am a 15 year old girl but born in the wrong generation. I basically would do anything to go back to Woodstock and live during the 60s and experience music at its peak, when it was raw, true, thriving, vital emotion mixed with sound…and that was it. The way it should be.

Here’s my top 4:

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (I’m obsessed on a higher level than you’d probably think…I absolutely love Tom…the music they create is ingenius…anyone else here dig 'em?)

Bob Dylan. What a spirit, what a mind, what a personality. I love him.

Neil Young ~ his Greendale album became part of what I base my life on, and his old stuff, I have almost all of it, is …kickass.

Jimi Hendrix…ah, well, here we have my first love, till Tom came along. I got Electric Ladyland and Are You Experienced for Christmas 3 years ago and that started me on this whole big journey.

My favorite band is definitely Pink Floyd. Bob Dylan's close behind though (I'm going to a Bob Dylan concert on April 20th, hehe).

I gained a new appreciation for Jimi Hendrix a few weeks ago. I was lying on my bed, stoned out of my mind, playing All Along the Watchtower really loud. I had this really weird visual where my feet were attached to the bottom of a globe and the globe was swinging around, but bottom heavy, and I had my guitar out and was playing the guitar part perfectly, including distortion. It was mad weird, but awesome.

"Volunteers" by Jefferson Airplane is my new favorite song. We need a revolution today against all the BS like they did back in the Vietnam days.

um...get the picture? I'm obsessed, the music godess, if you will. haha.

::blushes:: I listen to rather MTVish music...like Jessica Simpson...Britney Spears...My Chemical Romance...
But I do enjoy music from musicals. I have an obsession with broadway.

Anything from the Baroque era. I also listen to a ton of theivery corporation, Bjork and Oregon. Pretty much anything besides pop and country, I will listen to.

i gotta say, altho i love classical i don't particularily love mozart, his music is too dreamy/transparent to listen to... and to play it... eek

A little bit of almost everything (I loathe rap/hiphop, I must say)...

Classical - Debussy, Louis Ganne, Faure for Flute, Vivaldi, Mozart for violin/orchestral... after playing so many Bach sonatas for flute I've become somewhat immune to him, although playing the Brandenburg in orch is always fun

Country/Folk (I know I'm cool!) - Almost anything with fiddle (celtic especially), Paul Brandt, Dixie Chicks, more fiddle (Irish?), oh and did I mention that I fiddle? It's so much fun to play that it grew on me.

Other good stuff - The Beatles, Coldplay, Billy Joel, Ani Difranco, Norah Jones, Blue Rodeo, Train, Oasis, Simon and Garfunkle, Eric Clapton, Sinead O'Connor, Aerosmith, 3 Doors Down, No Doubt, and who could not love the Goo Goo Dolls (<-- my fav!). Oh and the Almost Famous Soundtrack is amazing.

Haha, Cujoe. Well, the classical music thing, see I will listen to it if studying, doing homework, or when falling asleep a few times a month, and I DOOO think its beautiful. I personally love Moonlight Sonata. But the thing is, I never know what the hell I'm listening to! lol

I do like a lot of it, though. Pretttyyyy. ...but nothing beats rock n roll!
