"Musical Performance and Composition" Portfolio

Would the tracks I composed and produced fit appropriately to this category? I mean it allows for up to 25 items anyway I’m thinking they’d probably be chill with it anyway but there’s also an “Other” category so I’m not sure if I’m supposed to submit them there.

Admissions is looking to fill the requirements of it’s orchestras, specifically instrumental and choral ensembles, including the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra, Holden Choirs, Kuumba Singers, Jazz Bands, Bach Society Orchestra and River Charles Ensemble. Also appreciation societies, from Early Music to a cappella, plus rock/R&B, hip-hop and electronica, as well as ensembles performing the music of ethnic cultures worldwide. Do your compositions fit into any of these categories? If you don’t know which category to choose, then select ‘Other.’

Harvard also has a Composers Collective, but it is mainly for composers of contemporary classical concert music.

I suggest you go on the music forum with this question as well. It can be found under “majors.”

I’ll PM you.

@gibby And they also have the Electronic Music Collective! Some of mine fit here, so would it be applicable for the compositions category?

@geekgurl. Yes, it would be an applicable category. However, your musical performance and composition material need to be at a conservatory level when submitting an arts portfolio – even if you are not planning on majoring in music.
