<p>what is this massive obsession with indie? i mean some of it is good, like arcade fire and interpol, but death cab? cmon, they are alright, but unbelievably overrrated</p>
<p>deathcab i loved in 7th grade, same with bright eyes, rilo kiley, and postal service, thats why theyre all together. i still love them for old times sake</p>
<p>that was just an example, any kind of band like that gets on my nerves. its the "indie flavor of the month" thing, bands like vampire weekend</p>

<p>I don't have a problem with indie rock, people just seem to get attached to artists for a very short time then drop them. It's no different from the mainstream music, indie rock fans just think their music is special.</p>

The term "indie rock" shouldn't be taken literally, otherwise very few artists would qualify as indie (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah comes to mind).</p>

<p>i know, but indie as a sound means nothing. i understand what indie means, but of montreal and sufjan stevens are both indie. aside from having many layers in most of their songs, i cant think of very much they have in common, sound wise</p>
