their lyrics are super nice. mostly on transatlanticism and plans. narrow stairs is alright...

The title track of Transatlanticism is especially moving.. Although most people wouldn't want to sit through an 8 minute song.

i know, but indie as a sound means nothing. i understand what indie means, but of montreal and sufjan stevens are both indie. aside from having many layers in most of their songs, i cant think of very much they have in common, sound wise

I dunno, indie music to me suggests a more mellow sound, less hyped up effects, etc, but obviously there are bands that don't fit that description.

ska, do you like ska? or is your name a reference to something else? also, YouTube - Dan Deacon - CRYSTAL CAT the new face of indie. haha, im not trying to be a jerk and push my point too hard, i just love this song/video/dan deacon and thought it would be fun to share
!!! youre at johns hopkins!?!? youre so close to wham city!

haha, okay. just wondering. ska is the music of my youth, my mom used to play tapes of the specials and the english beat when i was like 7 and i was alllll up in the local scene in like 7th and 8th grade. it has a special place in my heart.
