Musical Theater Summer Programs at this late date

My D is finishing her sophomore year in high school, has a passion for musical theater, and we want to find a good summer immersion program. Does anyone know of a good program such as Carnegie Mellon, that is still accepting applications?

I don't know if you have discovered that CC has a very active and informative forum on musical theater and colleges. With a daughter who has a passion for MT, you will want to check it out. ONE very good thread on that forum you should look at immediately is this one on Summer Musical Theater Programs....it is a big list with the relevant information:

As well, there is another thread on the Musical Theater Forum that is an ongoing DISCUSSION of these same summer musical theater programs. You'd be wise to contact the programs on the list and find out if it is not too late to apply/enroll. I believe CMU's preCollege program has a deadline of May 1, though more juniors than sophs go to it. It is definitely late to be applying to summer programs. Some may let you get on a waitlist. Also, you'll have this list now for next year and would be wise next year to apply around December or so to increase the chances at the options.

I have a daughter who attended Stagedoor Manor for 8 years and I cannot say enough about how wonderful that program is and the significance it has had in my daughter's life. She is now in a BFA program in musical theater at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. It is late for Stagedoor and I am sure at this point, it means getting on a waitlist but sometimes spots open up when families have a change of plans. I also have a D who went for four summers to French Woods Festival of the Peforming Arts where she was heavily involved in musical theater as well. That is also a fantastic program but could be filled, I don't know. I think I would inquire at the programs on the list that I just linked you to as far as availability at this late date. Then if you do have some choices, I would read the thread on the MT forum that discusses these summer programs. If you have questions about either Stagedoor Manor or French Woods Festival, I can try to help.

Although it is too late for this summer, for next summer, she might consider the M-Pulse summer musical theater workshop at University of Michigan. Here's the link:
