kjackson2977, in case you haven’t found it yet, there is an entire sub-forum devoted to Musical Theatre on College Confidential at [Musical Theater Major - College Confidential](Musical Theater Major - College Confidential Forums). YOu will find lots of information on many of the schools you list there.

Columbia in Chicago for MT in my opinion does not measure up to most of the programs on your list. The MT program alone has about 300 students and auditions are not required for admittance into the program. I have worked with some of their students and while some of them are talented a lot of others do not seriously want to do this. My fear for those who are serious about theatre and apply there is that you won’t be challenged enough and you will be around people who don’t take this seriously. If you want a school that still has a good program, but does not require auditions I suggest you look at Muhlenberg College. On another note, I am applying to Pace this year and my vocal coach works there. I think the program is pretty amazing especially for contemporary musical theatre and where it seems to be heading. I also love Ithaca, UArts, and Marymount. I don’t know much about the other schools. What I suggest is you get a criteria for what you want in a school and look at them based off of that. For example diversity in faculty and student body is important to me because I’m black, what shows are they doing, are they shows I can be cast in, who from their school is actually working, etc. Also if you have the finances try and get help (coaching wise) for theatre auditions and they will really help you figure out where you want to be in terms of school and where you fit best.
