Musical theatre

Any thoughts on the Muhlenberg theatre program? My d really loved it when we visited. Likes that it has a traditional college feel and seems to have a well rounded theatre training program.

I wish I could tell you. I would like the same!

Muhlenberg is a gem for the student who wants a traditional college experience along with serious theatre training. My daughter is a sophmore theatre and film double major and loves the school. Her acting classes are excellent, the dance classes are high level and her voice teacher is wonderful. Getting parts in the main stage productions is very competitive, but there are many performing options at Muhlenberg. The theatre department really encourages double majoring and study abroad experiences and wants to make it all happen for the students.

D received her acceptance in the mail today! Does anyone know how soon the scholarship info will come? She was asked to apply for the Dana Scholars program. Also hoping for a presidential scholarship…a talent scholarship wouldn’t hurt either, lol.

Oh my gosh, her acceptance came today! Gulp! Congratulations to her! I wasn’t expecting this one till early next week…

Muhlenberg is a fantastic program, and we saw one of the best college productions there that we’ve seen anywhere (Three Sisters, last spring). Loved the audition experience and the class that my son sat in prior to his audition was superb. We have visited twice and seen a couple of shows. It looks like my son will end up in an auditioned BFA (he’s been accepted to his first-choice school), but Muhlenberg has been a very top consideration for him and I would strongly recommend seeing a show and touring the facilities. Great faculty and kids and overall sense of energy.

Did you all apply regular or early action? Good luck to all !!!

Regular for us.

My D applied RD. We live in NJ so it only took one day for the decision to get to us, since they went out yesterday. Her cousin in NJ also received hers today as well. Good luck to everyone waiting.

Times3-Thanks for the input. My D has to go back and revisit. She had to cut her visit short on audition day because if she did not make it back to her school in time for after-school rehearsal for chorus, she would not be allowed to perform at Carnegie Hall later that week. She missed out on the class visit and seeing a performance. I would like her to revisit the school before making her final decision. She still has three schools that we are waiting to hear from… Best of luck to your S. That is awesome that he got into his first choice BFA program!

Thanks, 3daughters–we have not come down from Cloud 9 yet! Hope your daughter can see a production (I would love to see the “Iphigenia” going up at the end of this month). It’s a remarkable school. Good luck with the decision!

My daughter got her acceptance letter today! Fortunately it says “You’re In!” on the envelope because she’s at the lake today and I’m trying to resist opening her mail…
So the financial information comes later?

Sorry austinmt, no financial info in that envelope…the wait continues!!!

Is anyone else still WAITING for Muhlenberg? I am wondering if they just sent out a wave, with more to come, or if all acceptances have gone out. No news here, good or otherwise!

I am interested in musical theatre but an worried about the lack of BFA training here. My parents really want me to get a good education as well as theatre training, but is there a chance to take extra theatre/dance/music classes along with my theatre major and music and dance double minor so I.can have more rigorous training?
