Musical Therapy

Music has always been a passion of mine. A month ago I did a project in advanced health class in which I did a little research on musical therapy. It sounded like a really awesome occupation, and something that I would enjoy thoroughly. Music means a lot to me, and occasionally I find myself strumming on my acoustic guitar whenever I feel the need to, whether it be in times of distress or times of joy. I would wholeheartedly love to express well-being to those who are ill through my music.

I would like to know if anyone else has any more info on musical therapy, and more importantly which schools offer musical therapy programs; and also which of these schools are the best for studying it.

Note: I also posted this in the "Other Majors" sub forum, as I feel having it in two different places would generate more responses.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/729144-music-therapy.html?highlight=music+therapy</a> is the most recent thread. An advanced search on title using “music therapy” will yield four additional threads, but are also linked in the thread I suggest.

You may also want to pm rudysmom, whose son is in a BM music therapy program.

Man I should have searched, thanks a ton though, dude.
