musicians, share your instruments!...

I used to play the double bass. I loved it. :) I also took piano and guitar lessons, but they didn't do a whole lot for me.

I've played the piano for 12 years. But practicing becomes a bore-- but my all-time favorite piece is Nocturne 1 by Chopin. Difficult to learn because of flats and sharps and triplets in right hand for eighth note in left.

But my favorite instrument is my voice. Sing opera---first soprano. Love it, and is much easier than practicing piano. Lessons for about 6 years on/off. Easier to do because less people sing than play the piano!

i've been singing for awhile as well. i'm a 2nd sop.

i think singing's more fun as well.

<3

I play a Fender standard stratacaster and a 15 w. Behringer digital analog amp. I also have an Epiphone acoustic guitar.

pshhhh i have a stradivarius...
my name is joseph hassid
and i am musically phenomenol

...
i wish

Used to play flute, but I haven't touched it recently so I must be pretty bad now.

Played in Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center with band/orchestra.

Clarinet and used to play saxophone

Satar, and violin

Zipzoopzabulous- I wouldn't say practicing opera as a first soprano is that much easier than practicing a piano. I guess there are certian elements that we can compare between the two, but I wouldn't say one or the other is easier/harder hands-down. But I do agree-my voice is my favorite instrument. AND, you don't have to carry it around with you in a big case or anything!!! :) :) :)

i've played the violin for years and i looove it :). my violin is german--it has a beautiful, rich tone. i've also played the piano for a couple years, but i'm pretty useless at it because i never practice. o well lol.

I've been playing the piano since I was 6...11 years. It is an old upright we got at a tag sale way back then, but it still functions and makes Mozart sound decent!

Also, alto saxophone for 8 years- Selmer Paris Series III... the mother of all alto saxophones.

It's hott.

no...Selmer Mark VI...the god of all saxes. :).

I've played clarinet for 7 years, have a Buffet E11 model and have cherished it for about 4 years. I got into North Jersey Junior Area Band in 8th grade, haven't tried out for anything since, and am going to get my act together and try out for Regions and such this year. I'm a rising junior.

I learned oboe in the beginning of 10th grade and played it in band throughout the year. I don't really like it as much as the clarinet, but I figure I could just keep it up and see how good I get. I'm at the level where I can play solos in band pieces and have them sound decent. Currently I play both in band, clarinet in marching band.

Trumpet for eight years (and I had braces for 1.5 years, it felt eird, but I adjusted) and piano for nine years. Both are Yamahas.

My 300th post; now I'm a member, now I finally belong...

I play percussion. Mostly mallets and timpani. I love it, even though I hate my section during concert band.

I've played trumpet 8 years, since 4th grade, and have a Bach 180S-37. My twin brother plays a Selmer Mark VI alto sax. My older sister has a French violin that was made the year Mozart died, plus a viola. My older brother also has a violin that he's played since he was 3, guitar, electric bass, drum set and keyboard (yes, music was one of his majors). I don't remember the brands - they've been out of the house a while. We also have a Mason & Hamlin full grand and a Baldwin studio piano, which my mom and brothers play, and assorted little violins and bows left over from our Suzuki days.

I have played the clarinet for 7 years. Also the piano for about 5.

My clarinet is a Buffet R13 and my piano is an ok digital one.

I play the voice (ha! but true) and I've played violin since I was 4.

I mainly played flute in hs (been playing since 6th grade)...I have a open-hole Geminhardt (sp?). I'm going to play piccolo in marching band in college this year though, and I've never played pic OR marched before, so this could be interesting, lol. I also played bari sax in band, along with timpani and xylophone for certain pieces we played. It was a small band, so I had to help fill out the instrumentation as needed, haha...

I played in a handbell choir at my church for 7 years.

In my free time, I play guitar and bass (not very well, though). I'm trying to teach myself and I only play on and off - not too great for trying to learn. I have a Squier P-Bass, a 15w Fender Frontman amp, and a Hohner dreadnought acoustic guitar. I'd rather have a nicer bass and guitar, but I think I need to learn to play them better first...

Selmer Alto Sax Mark VI ('66), the god. Although im not a fan, used to be David Sanborns.

Use Vandoren mouthpieces and reeds.
