Is it easier for a Muslim....(Iranian in my case) to get into college???

I'm a Muslim too. No, it is not easier to get into college if you are a Muslim because religion is not considered in the admissions process by majority of colleges.

Yes it helps you in the process and I'm a Muslim also. I'm half Egyptian and half Iranian, but since Egypt is in Africa I'm applying as African-American, but definitely put that on your resume.

naderboy2002, your playing the system. Egyptians are not African-Americans; they are Arabs, which I'm sure you know. In addition, you even said you're applying as an African-American. Where does religion play into any of this? If you go to the CB database, you can check what colleges consider. I have not found one college that considers religious affiliation during admissions.

naderboy2002 unless your nubian your definately not African American, African American refers to Sub-Saharan Africans

"The U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation also categorizes Black or African-American people as a person having origins in any of the **black **racial groups of Africa"

Anyway being Muslim doesn't help but I really wish it did.

I know Egyptians who look black, and I know some who look Persian. I guess it would depend on his genealogy. I'm Muslim too, but I don't think it helps though. However my cousin got into Princeton, and he went to a private Islamic school in Illinois with like 6 people in his class.

See, that's happened at our local mosque school too. However, the thing is that those schools play the system for lack of a better phrase. They report those people's rank out of the entire student body, not just the high school class, which makes them see ultracompetitve.

tux do you got to nbths, I was just there today for a volleyball game
