So my counselor told me today that at my school, we have to do the recommendations by snail mail. Due to that, I have to do the whole Common App on paper. Some schools that I am applying to say that they prefer an online app, so will this hurt my chances?

Also, how do I get the rec paper for my teachers to fill out and send it?

Just so you know, recommendations are pretty much always sent by paper, but that doesn’t mean you have to do the whole thing via paper.
A lot of my application has to go out by paper, but I’m sending the main part online.
BUT, if for some reason you really do have to use paper, most schools I’ve seen say that they won’t discriminate, but that the process will just be slower because someone will have to put all your information into their computer from the paper.
But the recommendation forms are often available on the school’s website; if not, they are on commonapp.org under “Forms” at the top.

Okay thanks. I just found that I can actually do the app online, but it requires me to enter in the names of my teachers. However, the app won’t let me do that since my school uses “naviance edoc”.
