Must eat resturant

My brother is helping me move into my dorms this fall and I want to take him around Nashville and show him what its all about.

What eatery places(breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert) we cant miss while we are there. what are the best in Nashville basically
and any fun places we can enjoy at night as well . hes only 19 ,so no bars lol
he will be there for 3 days.

thanks for you help.

pancake pantry for breakfast

las paletas for popsicles!! the best hidden gem ever (the building doesn’t even have the name of the business on there… you can google map it though).

So many great places! Yes to the two above - they’re affordable, too. If you’re looking for a really nice place for dinner: the best meal we ever had in Nashville was at Bound’ry this past May when my d graduated. It’s within walking distance of campus in a cool, less upscale area - pricey, though!

Also had good meals at Cabana, Sunset Grill, and the Mad Platter. The first two are near Pancake Pantry - Sunset Grill was better when we were there for lunch than for dinner. Great fried chicken at Cabana! We’ve also enjoyed J. Alexander’s, Logan’s Roadhouse, Maggiano’s, Bread & Co., and P. F. Chang’s, right in West End (most of which are chains). Envying you, Vandy Panda - enjoy your time at Vandy!

Rotier’s for lunch or dinner if you want what Jimmy Buffet called “Cheeseburger in Paradise”.

The Acorn is off West End, kind of behind the McDonald’s near the Parthenon. Upscale, but very good.

Green Hills has the Cheesecake Factory and F.Scotts(only open for dinner and quite pricey) and Bronte bistro downstairs in Davis Kidd bookstore.Neros Grille is very good too
Sylvan Park area is the Park Cafe-you would need a car or taxi to get there and reservations. Love that place.
Brentwood has Mere Bulles-again you would need a car to get there.
Agree that Acorn is quite good. Stoney River steaks is on West End. Bricktops restaurant is on Elliston Place. It’s hard to find a bad place to eat
For dessert, try Gigi’s cupcakes which is not too far from Noshville deli on Broadway-great for breakfast and lunch.
Las Paletas is absolutely to die for but they are not open daily. You should check which days they are closed before you go. My favorites are the Hibiscus, Rose and Mexican Hot Chocolate(yes, its spicy!) popsicles.

Jack’s BBQ downtown

Popsicles??? Huh???

rotiers is the dank, so good… get the grilled cheese burger, its so good on the sourdough bread

P.F. Chang’s is way upscale IMO. I’ve only been to one in Boston but it was pricey… though v. delicious!

Panera’s (sp?) is always good and I loved the meal I had at Noshville Deli.

Sambuca is probably my favorite. I didn’t find out about it til soph year. I think its down on 12th street.

Bricktops is also very good.

PF Chang’s is not upscale by any means. There are a lot more expensive places nearby. Plus you get pretty large portions. I don’t think it’s a must go to place either since they are all over.

I personally am addicted to Cafe Coco. It’s open 24 hrs and has yummy paninis and is not too pricey. It has a punk kind of scene but it doesn’t really matter because the staff is super nice! I also love their iced german chocolate coffee. Look at menu here [Cafe Coco](http://www.cafecoco.com)
Cabana is slightly expensive but their pot roast is absolutely delicious and so are their buttermilk mashed potatoes. Cabana menu http://www.sitemason.com/files/lL2EBq/CabanaSummer09.pdf</a>
Acorn is expensive but I had the pan seared chicken breast and it was delicous.

SATCO is really good and very close to campus

cheesecake factory ? Pf chang ? ***

I would definitely recommend trying the restaurants that are only in Nashville, especially if you are only visiting or someone is visiting you. PF changs and Cheescake are good, but you can go to those all over the place. However, food isn’t Nashville’s best quality and it doesnt really compare with restaurants in major cities like NYC.

…if you’ve never had real Tex-Mex before.
My friend suggested we go when my parents and I visited Vandy, and my dad couldn’t even finish his burrito. It’s good, don’t get me wrong. But when you’ve actually grown up in Texas, aka the birthplace of Tex-Mex, it’s not the same.

Monell’s. Family-style southern food. You’ll need a car or cab to get there, but it’s worth it at least once.

Amerigo. Americanized Italian food. Not-too-far from campus (walkable). Haven’t heard of one person who didn’t like it.

Go to a website called [Nashville Originals - Independent, locally-owned restaurants](http://www.nashvilleoriginals.com) There are a ton of good restaurants on that website that are locally owned and operated. Of the ones on that list that I have been to, I can’t say anything positive about tayst. It was awful. Too bad that Park Cafe is not on that list. It really is a wonderful place to eat.
