Can anyone confirm how many years a student must live in university housing? The costs for on-campus dorms are listed next year at $6200-$6500 per semester for the lower cost options while other schools on my kids list are give or take $3500.
It looks like students are required to be on campus for the first three years: Residential Life Overview | Quinnipiac University (scroll down to the section under “Benefits of Living on Campus”).

You’ve got to look at the costs on an annualized basis. An apartment near Quinnipiac is going to require a one year lease (even if your kid is only there 9 months a year), first months and last months rent, PLUS a security deposit, plus utilities, cable, etc. It is not the most expensive area in CT, but it’s a lot more expensive than some other college towns in the Northeast. So make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Moving off-campus doesn’t always save you much money.
