Do you have to demonstrate passion on;y on science and math to be considered to MIT?
Can it be on other things?

you have to be able to handle the general institute requirements which involve a lot of hardcore math and math-based science. so...

Why even consider MIT unless you love math and science?? That's what it's known for.

That said, if you're terrific in math and science but your passion is, say, economics, that's cool for MIT.

But if you want French literature, try Yale.

You don't have to demonstrate passion only in math and science -- as I've said before, my primary extracurriculars in high school were band, show choir, and theater, and my husband's was freestyle skiing.

So no, applicants don't need to be one-dimensional.
