Must you take a math course 1st year?

I have not taken AP calc or the Math placement test because my major does not require any math. But, I have to just take one math course for my GE requirement. It said I could take logic or philosophy, but do I still need to take the math placement exam for those? If so, must I take the placement exam 1st year and one of the math courses first year too?

I don’t think you have to take the placement exam your first year. You definitely don’t need to take your math course your first year.

Note: You didn’t mention it, but I don’t want to assume you’re not gonna try to postpone the writing placement exam. I recommend you take the writing placement test as soon as possible because if you don’t pass, you’re gonna need to take extra courses before you take the actual writing series.

No. you can take it anytime before you graduate.
