Muticultural Celebration Weekend Invitation

I recently got an invitation to WashU's multicutural celebration weekend sent through priority mail. It was just a single flyer in the big envelope. But in the top it says "Dear Admitted Student, Congratulations on your admission to Washington University in St. Louis!"

This is the first thing I've received from WashU though (other than the postcards), and I don't see anything about my decision when I checked on their website. So does this mean I am actually accepted? Are they going to send me a more formal notice later? Thanks!

Sorry, there was actually a letter of admission in the envelope; my dad only gave me the flier. Hope to see some of you CCers at multicutural weekend!

from Wash Univ this morning.
Can't open it yet. I am driving to his ball game to let him open it.
Wow. I hope it is a YES for him.

I got the priority mail envelope from USPS today too! Very exciting! It's sort of an unofficial-official acceptance letter, it says they'll send the official one in a few weeks.

i got accepted too!!!! i'm so pumped.

To what undergraduate school did you guys apply to?

CAS first choice, Engineering & Applied Science second choice.

I also applied to CAS first choice, and Engineering second choice.

where are you all located? this makes me nervous and worried.

i live in southern ohio.

wow congrats. i live in VA so hopefully monday or tuesday sth will ccome

I got invited to this as well as the Olin spotlight weekend...I don't think I'll attend both though.

Does getting an invitation imply a scholarship in anyway if you didn't apply for one?

is it for minorities or everyone admitted?

Ok, I have a quick question....:

Am I considered a minority?

I'm half-Filipino/half-German......

It's funny, when I was in elementary/middle school... I marked my ethnicity as "Pacific Islander".....then around junior high I started marking "Asian".........now I mark "other."

Le sigh...

jtslick89- I have the same question. I'm half Chinse-Indonesian/half Indian.

and johnnydr87- I'm pretty sure you'd count as a minority- or at least "multicultural."
Sometimes I hate the whole schbang...but hey...if it helps get me into college I'm not about to complain.

wow. their registration date is quite ridiculous.

March 29th, just before we can hear any notifications from other colleges so if we register for WashU's weekend I will miss out on going to Harvard/Stanford's weekend if I am also accepted there.

Now I'm worried on whether I should take the sure thing weekend and register for WashU's weekend, or hold out for hopefully an acceptance letter and a weekend somewhere else on the 20th.

What if I register and don't go? I wouldn't mind losing the $25 that much..

Hmm, what a terrible dillema.

Where do you live? If they are flying you out and have already bought plane tickets for you, I think you might be responsible for that if you cancel...

But yeah, that date annoyed me too!

Realize that they won't rescind your acceptance if you don't go.

How many people have already been sent their admission decision in this form?
