I really suck at taking notes. Can someone please help me improve my notes? I just seem to be copying just about everything down. Also, should I read the boxes in the chapter (i think they're like connections or something like that) and take notes on them?

...........What class is this for.....

Ya we need to know the class because note taking skills differ depending on the class.

I'm guessing you're talking about a history class since it's your first one (a lot of people take AP Euro for their first one) and history is a note heavy class. Some hints:

Read the lesson in the textbook before your teacher lectures. That way, you know the important points in the text and can focus on writing them down

Don't take notes on things that are intuitive/common sense

Note taking is a learned skill. Over time, that skill will improve and so will your notes

Just do whatever you need to do. If your teacher tests you on specific stuff, copy those down. It works differently for all people. I for one never read before a lecture.

It actually is Ap Euro

Euro??? as first?? thats suicide for a first

Tips: take notes that you know you will use instead of everything, its waste of time writing what you wont/will not/do not need to look over later on
