Hi, so I was not sure as to whether my SAT or ACT looked better. I'm taking each one another time, and I hope to do way better on my SATs, but my ACT was just taken after about 3 hours of studying and I think I can bring it up a little more. Which one should I focus more on? As of now, which looks best?

SAT: Super-scored: 2120 (CR: 610 [YIKES. I'LL FIX IT I SWEAR], M:800, W: 710 [Lol. forgot to review])
ACT: 1st sitting w/o much prep at all, Score: 33 (M:34, W:34, R:30, S:32) Essay: 12 {Writing composite: 35}

If you can bring up your ACT to 34+, then definitely ACT!

And also, taking ACT no writing is way cheaper than taking the SAT lol just sayin’

It kind of depends on where you plan on applying. Both are good scores. IMO a 33 looks better than a 2120 though.

Thanks for the replies! I’m just nervous because there’s only one ACT and one SAT retake date before ED applications, and I wanted to use them wisely. Obviously I’m aiming for a 34 on ACT, but should my SAT retake be used for bringing up my subject tests (M2: 780, Spanish: 660 [Especially for this], Literature: ?) instead of SAT, to NOT send in my SAT score, send in a better ACT and better Subject tests for ED? Other people are telling me to do RD and just bring all of them up to make myself even stronger overall, but ED has “better chances” and I can get college apps over with!

For ED I’m pretty sure the test date after the October test date is the one of the last times to submit scores (I think for the SAT that is in November). Retake the subject tests in Oct. and the regular SAT in Nov.

If you check the college’s website that you are applying to for ED they will tell you when the last date is to send in your scores.

@tola2015 that’s why I’m so nervous!
Option 1: I do ED, retake my ACT and whole SAT, but have bad Subject Tests
Option 2: I do ED, retake my ACT, and add/bring up subject tests, and not turn in SAT score
Option 3: I do RD, and get time to re-do everything!

I just thought ED would have the “higher chance” advantage, but I’m scared I’m just risking it.

Just checked UPenn’s site because it was the first one that popped up when I searched. I’m pretty sure this goes for all ED schools.

“Last SAT and SAT Subject Test Date November 2014*”

Retake ACT: Sept
Retake SAT II: Oct
Retake SAT: Nov

If you do this you will be very busy but what can you do. Make sure you take practice tests and study before you retake any of these to see if your score will increase.

Stanford’s says SAT last date is just October. Same with Columbia. UPenn is my #3 dream school, but ED might not be the best fit for it.

NVM COLUMBIA SAYS NOVEMBER TEST DATE!!! Time to do ACT, SAT, and SAT II! TIME TO STUDY!!!

From Stanford: “We recommend (but do not require) that you submit official results of at least two SAT Subject Tests, as these additional scores often assist us in our evaluation process. You are welcome to submit any and all SAT Subject Tests you have completed. We do not have a preference for the specific SAT Subject Tests you elect to take. However, if you elect to take a math test, we do prefer to see the MATH LEVEL 2 test if you feel that your math background has adequately prepared you for this test.”

You Math Level 2 test score is high enough to be competitive

From Columbia: " You must have all standardized testing completed by the November test date," " In addition to the SAT, you must submit results from two SAT Subject Tests. Although SAT Subject Test scores are not required for students submitting the ACT, those scores are welcome should you choose to take the tests. "

For stanford it looks like your going to have to pick between SATI or SATII for the Oct test.

Seems like you need to ACT quickly to decide which one to submit! hehe!

Yours,

I was stuck between Columbia and Stanford for ED, obviously anyone would LOVE to go to each of these, but each school is literally perfect… but in such different ways! I’m very specific in what I look for, so it’s tough! I’m looking more towards ED Columbia, but I’m definately applying to Stanford with the best supplements etc. possible RD cuz I still have a 90% of not getting in ED for Columbia!
