Hi, I am a naturalized citizen from Russia. I'm only a Sophomore right now, but here is a list of of what I would like to attain when I apply to West Point, some things are already completed.

All Honors Math classes w/ AP Calc AB + AP Calc BC
All Honors History classes w/ AP European + AP American
All Honors English w/ AP Senior
All Honors Science classes w/ Chem II(h) + AP Physics + AP Biology
Four years of French w/ Excellence in French II award
Distinguished Honor Rolls throughout high school
Top 10 class rank out of 490
GIFTED education program
Decent ACT/SAT test scores

Four years of Track w/ at least one letter
Track Captaincy or leadership committee

One year Mocktrial
Three years of a Peer Support tutor
National Honor Society w/ a position
Leo Club w/ a position
CYLC Nominee (didn't go)

I believe I'm strong academically if I do good on the tests.

Is my proposed plan for athletics ok or would I need 2 years of XC too? (I'm a sprinter)

Would my leadership roles be enough if I attain them?

With the whole candidate score system and the competitive nature of the application process it is not possible for anyone on this board to tell you that what you have is “good enough” for an appointment. Best advice is always to do “the best you can”. Only you know what you can manage successfully.

“Is my proposed plan for athletics ok or would I need 2 years of XC too? (I’m a sprinter)”

Participating in two sports generally looks better than one, and XC is good training for the running you would do at USMA.

"Would my leadership roles be enough if I attain them? "

It is better to have good leadership positions in a few activities than marginal leadership in a whole bunch of clubs.

You need to excel in your activities. Like Win several Conference, State, National Championships. For example: Academic Decathlon any Sport or extra curricular. Every Candidate is well rounded. You need to stand out above the others. Good Luck. if you have any questions PM me. I applied twice before I got in to the Academy.
