My Advice For AP Cal AB

Well I took the AP Cal AB test this year and I got my scores yesterday. I made a 5 on the exam and I just wanted to share my methods that really helped me out.

To start off, I broke down the test into 3 sections. LIMITS, DERIVATIVES, AND INTEGRALS. (i broke integration down into antiderivative and area/volume.) I had a composition book that contained ONLY the key things I needed to remember for the test.

I didn't have a prep book or anything. The two main ways I prepped for the test was to get a hold on as many practice tests as possible, and to teach my classmates. My teacher handed us endless packets of work to get us familiarized with the test. Most of the questions on the test are very similar to practice tests. I ended up completing 20 packets of Calculus. It contained both free response and mult choice.

I taught myself to teach others the material. This really helped me comprehend all the steps to all the problems and really figure out how to solve things. I didn't just memorize formulas and stuff, I actually took time to understand the concept. Teaching is the best form of learning.

well I hope my advice helps all those taking the AB Cal test next year! :D
