Hey Guys, I have a 3.57 GPA. I am majoring in math at a community college. I am a first generation Asian american from a low income family… Never took SATs or Acts. I struggled to understand the importance of an education in highschool, so I barely finished with a 2.1 GPA while in special ed classes. As, a result I had to start in developmental classes. Now, I am in Hola Cub, Math club, Japanese club, Asian club, and International club. And I am a teaching assistant for a Calc 2 class. And I made it from pre-algebra to finishing Linear algebra and Differential Equations in College. I also have two letters of recommendations from teachers. What do you think are chances of being accepted to Cornell? Thank u so much for ur comments.
Cornell is extremely competitive, normally even more difficult for transfers. I won’t speculate regarding your chances, however, you should be aware that Cornell has several undergraduate colleges and, I believe, one applies for admission to a specific school (not to the University, in general). Each school has it own admissions requirements and standards. Therefore, you probably need to devote considerable effort to ascertain which college within the University you wish to enter, BEFORE any speculation regarding your probability of acceptance would be meaningful.
Just a tad more information, as of a couple years ago, Cornell had about 3600 applications for transfer students, and about 700 gained admission. So, it is still very competitive, but probably the most liberal school for transfer admissions within the Ivy family.
Great idea! I think I should select college of arts and sciences.
