AP World: 3
AP Gov: 3
AP Lang: 3

I took Ap world as a sophomore and it was my first AP class so I was unhappy but content with a 3

This year I took AP Lang and AP GOV and I thought I did really good! I studied all year for the exam and I even bought a prep book. I made sure to take practice tests and look online for tips.

I feel like a dumb loser

I was expecting to get at least a 4 but will colleges see this and think "Oh she is not hard worker" or "She is really stupid"

I feel so disapointed in myself..I feel like crying

I see so many people on here get 4's and 5's and I want to be like them!

You’re not dumb. Several people on CC have gotten 1’s & 2’s. 3’s are still passing scores. If you have the grades to back them up, colleges won’t think you’re stupid.

I did worse and I’m feeling the same way. I thought I got 4s and 5s on AP Lang and APUSH, but it did awful. I’ve been really depressed because I worked so hard and I killed those essays!

You did your best, right? You are satisfied with yourself after you took the test, right? Then forget about the score. You should be proud of yourself. You worked hard for those tests. Now, you just need to push yourself even further next year. Yes, this website is basically a conglomeration of people having 4s or 5s, maybe even 3s. But there are people who wished they had the scores you have. So what you have straight 3s? AP scores aren’t usually factored into the admission process, so don’t worry to much about it. You can still get in with ECs filled with things you love to do. Test-taking isn’t always that important in life.

To me, experience is all that matters, especially in life.

You still could get college credits for your scores:

Don’t worry, I got a 3 on world history as a sophomore. This year I got all 5’s. There’s a learning curve with AP exams. DW too much about it.

You’re not dumb. One test doesn’t determine your future. Keep in mind people on this website aren’t an accurate representation of the whole AP test taking population. Many schools will take 3’s as credit; that’s an accomplishment in itself.

Just don’t look at the scores reported in this forum. You are doing perfectly fine.

^exactly…the majority of kids have better things to do than hang out on CC and talk about AP scores…

you are not your AP scores (or your GPA, your SAT/ACT scores). You pushed yourself and received decent marks. Be proud of that.

Wow… I wish I was like you. I received my scores today and I got all 2s. Way better than me. If you are stupid then what about me? Be confident and proud. Most colleges accept 3 for the credit anyways. Congrats!

Fun killer here, but if you’re the type of person that goes in CC, it’s likely that the colleges you want to go to don’t accept 3s. Even the local CC only takes 4+ here!

The more selective schools require a 5 for course credit, depending on the subject. I don’t think my daughter even thinks about using AP scores to substitute for course credit when she enters college. I see AP classes as good rigorous classes one takes in high school and what matters is the grade you receive in the class. The AP score is secondary. I have a feeling I’m in the minority here.

A 3 isn’t a bad score, you passed. Alot of the kids at my school end up with 2s. Last year for AP chemistry the highest score was a 3 for my school! (i know you didn’t take that exact course/test). Don’t worry so much about it.

As others have said, 3 is passing. Do you consider yourself an average student? The average student doesn’t even take a single AP test. The fact that you took one and passed shows you’re well above average. Look at the rest of your transcript: Grades/Standardized Tests, that’ll tell you if you’re really “dumb”.

Thank you everyone I feel alot better now ^^

Yes a 3 is passing but I won’t get credit for college but hey I passed right? I should be more optimistic :D

Also do I qualify for the Ap scholar award??

AP Scholar
“Granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams”
<a href=“Get the Most Out of AP – AP Students | College Board”>Get the Most Out of AP – AP Students | College Board;

It didn’t say I got it when I logged in to check my scores though :(

Do they email it to you or do they send it through mail?? Could I use this on my college apps?

Yes you do and I believe you are notified later. I am also eligible and I have not received anything

They’re just AP’s! It’s ok! You’ve gotta remember that AP’s are chances at college credit much more than they are criteria for admission. I got 100 on the world regents and a 770 on the SAT II but I only got a 3 on the AP. It happens. Colleges are not gonna hate you or think you’re stupid. Your SAT’s, ACT’s, GPA, and your EC’s and character are the keys, AP’s and the credits from them are just nice to have.

I’m qualified for the AP scholar with honors and I’ve gotten nothing about it either.
