^It won't make them hurry up any. They've had my appeal for over 4 weeks and I still haven't heard anything...I think the 3 weeks was just a basic guideline.

I don't understand your basis for appeal. Is the NROTC (I don't even know what that means) through UCLA? If not, then it doesn't make sense to appeal because you might be able to go somewhere else and do something else but really wanted to go to UCLA.

Sorry I forgot to say. It is Navy reserve officer training corps, and I was ASSIGNED to the unit at UCLA. The scholarship is valid ONLY for UCLA since i put it down as my #1 choice on the nrotc app. You can transfer it, but It is a hard process and I didn't get into anywhere else besides UCSB, so if I don't get into UCLA with this appeal than I lose the full-ride scholarship.

At this point I dont really think they're going to accept any appeals...they should just tell us there are no more spaces at UCLA instead of keeping us waiting. I think the people who already got accepted on appeals are going to be the only ones. I think it's kinda crappy to keep us waiting.

Well think of it this way, everyone: if they were going to reject you straight away, they would have done it when they first recieved your appeal. There must be some hope, or you wouldn't be kept waiting.

im in the same boat as u guys
this is driving me crazy
i appealed to berkeley, and got in..but i was thinking i really wanted to go there, but sadly i changed my mind
i really do hope i get in, im thinking the longer it takes the better
mine has been over 3 weeks as well
hopefully we will all get in, if there are tons of spots left from people who didn't plan to go there
good luck:]

Well, his basis of appeal wasn't a very strong reason. He just stated the reasons why he wants to go to UCLA and why he felt he should have been admitted. But he's made his peace with UCSD after some consoling.

ohh ok. well while ucla is a disappointment, he'll love ucsd. awesome school! :) best of luck to your friend. oh ps, one other question, do you happen to know when he sent in his appeal?

aw filabusta, i'm so sorry. :[ jeez they've kept you hanging long enough. i still haven't gotten word either... and i sent mine in on the 9th. where are you all SIRed to go?

I reluctantly SIRed to UCSB, but I'm most likely not attending, just wanted to save my spot incase I changed my mind. I am leaning towards attending a community college, I'm a home-body, and don't want to move out (atypical, I know, heh).
