UCSD for me

for those of you who got denied today, mind sharing your basis for appeal?
thanks

denied. ;[
UCSD here i come/

Sorry to those who got rejected, it's much better to try again than to do nothing after a first rejection. No matter what your persistance will always help you succeed. Good luck with everything :).

I was denied today also

I'm sorry everyone who got denied. im scared i am going to be soon. What was the basis of all your appeals?

you guys will do great anywhere you go!

well UCLA received about 1200 appeals this year, i was thinking more in the 2000s, in 2005 they received over 1300 appeals and admitted 95.. so yeah

oh dear
im sorry, u guys are all awesome ppl who will do great things wherever u go
i havent heard back yet, and am starting to get worried
i really have my heart set on ucla
but i know i have to stay close to home as well, since my mom just finished her cancer treatment, i just hope things work out
for those of u guys who found out today, when did u guys send ur appeal in, and wat was it based on?
:]good luck

anyone else who's waiting get that message on their screen?

no i didnt, but thats weird

i still havent heard anything yet..

oh so you're still waiting but your status has remaind that standard "we have received your letter of appeal yada yada" ?

yes...sometimes i think its bad sometimes i think its good bc my letter could be going through the "4 steps of the appeal process'.. but i dont know

ohh ok... well i mean... i dont know how good mine is... if they accepted it why wouldnt they just tell me online, you know? why would they need to mail something... somehow i feel ilke you have more hope than i do... but then again who knows

4 steps? do you mean the whole they get the appeal, the appeal committee looks at it, then some big guy looks at it, then eventually vu tran looks at it?

yah by four steps i mean......a reader reads it, if she/he likes it then another reader reads it, then if accepted by that person than assistant director reads it then the director reads it.

yeah as for the online thing ... it could be that their system is busy or something...it could be completely unrelated to your admission decision, but trying calling them right now... their line closed at 4 but im sure they're still open

that's true. welll... i hate being in limbo. like seriously im so done.

Denied. Darn. Oh well. UCSD it is!
And to those denied, if UCLA truly is your first choice, transferring is always possible. =

starry mine says that too, I guess we should go and buy our UCLA sweaters now ;) Why would they send us a rejection letter in the mail, didnt they reject people online...lol I am biased in my thought process of course

the online admission site is an addition , NOT a replacement, for the official notice, which is a mailed letter

dont jinx your self, collegekid

i stoped believeing in the power of a jinx in 4th grade, never agian... :-p
