any news from them yet?????? what's taking them so long!

Omg...i Can't Believe It....i Just Want To Cry.....i Have Just Made It To Ucla...don't Give Up You Guys..there Is Seriously Still Hope...especially If Your Appeal Is Still In Review...because It Just Seems Like The Ones That Are Really Late Are Getting In....the Long Wait Is Certainly Worth It!!!...well Good To Anyone Who Is Still Waiting...ahhh...i'm So Happy!!! =)

i hope so i hope so...
btw congrats Starlet!!! what was basis of your appeal? if you don't mind sharing with us.. and when did you send in your appeal?

congratulations starlett!
aww i want to go to ucla really bad.
what was your reason of appealing?

UCLA was my first choice, so I sent in my appeal letter the day I've recieved the rejection letter. Yeah, they let me wait pretty long..over a month..so if you have waited as long as I did...don't worry that much...anything is possible...for my basis of appeal, I included:
*various leadership positions
* community service projects that I've organized
*awards and honors
*my dream occupation and why
*family circumstances
*two killer letters of teacher recommedation - involving my strenghths, weaknesses, and potential to contribute (I think they were a vital factor in helping my appeal)

only 4,634 sudents sent a SIR to UCLA. This is short of the 4,700 mark they wanted to reach. In the past, usually over 4,900 students SIR to UCLA.

just speculating...maybe all the triple rooms?....I had a friend decline because of it.

Omg yes. My parents wanted me to go to UCSD and live at home because they saw a res hall triple. I saw the plaza triple so I'm like "*** this thing is cool". Then I had to explain that most likely I wasn't going to get a res hall and that it was a lottery etc. etc. @_@

anyone still haven't heard back yet?

i havent. but i am a transfer

oh wow, does that mean freshman appeals are over?

not necessarily, i sent mine right away and it is pending.

hey starlet,
what did you letter read? or anyone who got accepted through appeal, what did your acceptance letters read?

does anyone know a timetable for transfer appeals/academic updates? by updates I'm referring to letting LA know you were short classes or had poor grades. they say a 15 day window, but that seems really long.

infearandfaith:

I know what you mean. I submitted an academic change report early last week and I haven't heard anything yet; my file just changed to "under review." I know there was someone else in the UC Transfer thread that received a reply in 3 days (they accepted his changes). I don't know...I hope it's not a bad sign that's it taking longer than 3 days...

well it doesn't look like it, I just got news that they'll be allowing me in! The wait might be worth it for you as well :)

i guess freshman appeals are over? anyone but me and meza havne't gotten a respond back yet?

its not over. i still haven't heard back. I'm coming up on a month from when I submitted it, and within a month seems like the average time to hear back. The lady i talked to said its rolling admissions, so its just going to keep going until all the spots are filled?

ronald- stop guessing its over for freshman. You will get a response. The appeals for transfers are also being reviewed right now, chill bro

k thanks you guys. good luck to everyone!
