It went from “Congratulations…” to “The Cal Poly Admissions Office has reviewed the documents you have submitted to date and has determined that you do not yet meet the Terms and Conditions of Admission. Your final transcript/s for this term is/are now needed to determine your admission.”

My daughter’s Application Status has changed too, but the wording is a little different from yours:

“You are cleared to enroll at Cal Poly pending receipt and verification of your final official transcripts and confirmation that you have successfully completed with a grade of ‘C’ or higher all coursework currently in progress.”

Did you guys both send transcripts to Cal Poly? I send it a while ago but my status still says Congrats. Hmm. Is your college on quarter or semester system??

I sent my transcripts in over a month ago. I just saw this change, so yours may be just a little delayed. I am on a semester system. Are you also a transfer praewa?

Yea that is definitely a possibility because I’m on a quarter system and I think it took me a while to send the transcripts after the quarter ended too. Thank you! Yes I’m a transfer for Chem. Been at a community college for 3 years. How about you?? You’re going to SLO for sure?

That might be it. This is my second year at my CC. I’m a Journalism major with an emphasis in broadcast from San Diego. I committed over a month ago. What about you?

You’re lucky that you get to transfer just after 2 years! Did you choose your housing yet?? I actually just accepted their admission last night. haha Was really hoping to wait for Davis but probably won’t get in and it’s so expensive for school. How many times have you visited the school??

Praewa: I chose a shared bedroom for the on-campus housing but after visiting for the open house last weekend I think I’m changing it to the private bedroom. Was Davis your your ultimate first choice? I’ve visited three times. The last time I went up was last weekend for Open House, the weather was horrendous, however it has been gorgeous the other two times I went up. Its a great school and a great area.

@softballkc, My mom would rather have me go to SLO than Davis because of money issue and I think she’s right. I don’t want to put too much burden on her with my college tuition and expense. Not to sound shallow or anything but wow. Cal Poly’s housing looks SUPER nice and convenient. Did you get to choose your housing yet??

@SoCalTransfer, Cal Poly & Davis are pretty much up there together, but money is an issue even with loans and financial aids, so I think I would end up going to Cal Poly. Are transfers allow to live in either Cerro Vista & PCV this year? I heard it changes every year. haha wow you’ve been there quite a few times, do you live near there??

@praewa: When I submitted my housing application it said that transfers could be placed in either PCV or Cerro Vista. I went up there twice during my senior year for a “college acceptance trip.” I live in San Diego so its a good five and a half hour drive both ways, although last weekend it took us six and a half hours because of the weather.

I sent all my transcripts in a while ago, I just need to send my final transcript after the semester is over at my community college with my final grades. I accepted the admission offer a while ago, too, as soon as I found out I was accepted since Cal Poly was my first choice. I haven’t checked my portal since then and I just checked it yesterday and I got that message. So I’m not sure when they put in on there.

I’m just a little concerned because I was at risk for getting rescinded because I wasn’t able to get into a chemistry course that I stated I would take on my application. I called admissions and the guy said it would be fine. I guess it got “reviewed” and he said it doesn’t need to go to a 2nd review because apparently as far as the amount of transfer units I had, it wouldn’t make a difference as to whether I had that chemistry class or not. That’s what I was told, anyways. I’m going to give admissions a call just to make sure everything is ok…

Oh, and to answer your question praewa, yes I am a transfer student attending a community college in southern california and we are on the semester system.

I’m a transfer student also, I just checked the portal and says “Congratulations…” hasn’t changed since I’ve checked last time… However on the to do list I’m asked to send a final transcript. I’m also thinking they’re going to ask for IGETC certification so I’ve already asked my counselor about it. Other than that, I’m a bit overwhelmed at the moment trying to study for the finals and essays on top of working… I haven’t even looked at housing and loans yet… but I should start applying soon I presume?

Correct me if I’m wrong but I haven’t heard that we need to send an IGETC certification. I called the admin office today and she said that if you have courses in progress that they change the message and just require the final transcripts, basically saying its no big deal just to send the transcripts when your done for verification. You should apply for housing ASAP because its first come first serve.

I’m confirming what SoCalTransfer said. I just called admissions and the lady told me I got that message because I have courses in progress and that it is nothing to be concerned about. And also that I will want to send in my final transcript ASAP as soon as the semester is over.

I applied for housing immediately after I accepted the admission offer. But I haven’t heard anything about it since then. Anyone know when we will hear about our application status as far as housing goes?

Konaluv - I suggest that so that you have proof to fall back on should someone from Admissions say your admission is denied in the future. Did you talk to them since they changed your status?
