Well, I’ve been waiting a long time to be able to confidently say that I now officially have an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. I’ve worked my tail off for the past four years and I must say… hard work does pay off. I want to say thanks to everyone who has helped me and also a big thanks to docfrance. Good luck to everyone and I look forward to seeing those of you who get accepted at Improcessing.

Thanks! '09 is going to be an awesome class.

Are any of you guys going to attend the appointee orientation in april?? There was a flyer for it in the kit that was sent and it sounds alright...I really like the part where I get to pick out my boots early and be able to break them in before BCT. If anyone knows about this orientation or is planning on going lend me your thoughts on it, because I am debating over whether or not to go.

I'm definately going to go, but I need to wait until my other accepted/rejected letters come in before I plan anything. I think there is more than one time you can go though? I mean, isn't the whole month open for visits as long as you notify them? Either way, I'm going to get out there, and I will be sure to let you know what day/weekend/whatever I decide to go. I'd definately like to meet as many members of 09 as I can before going.

I think it will make in-processing day that much easier, knowing a few people that is. :)

falconflyer, congratulations to you! It has been obvious reading your posts that this is something you have wanted for so long and that you have worked so hard to reach your goal. All the best to you!

Congrats to all who have recieved their appointments. I can only imagine how great it feels. Good luck with BCT and your first year at the academy.

Thanks so much. It does feel really great. My appointment has just been staring me in the face for the last couple of days. All I need to do now is practice my signature, and then sign one of the most important (at least it is to me) papers ever! BCT sounds exciting, however it's definitely going to be hard. My ALO and I have been talking about it a lot. Apparently it has changed over the years and is a lot easier compared to when it started. Oh well, its not like when I'm going through it I will be wishing it was harder.. lol.

Everyone keep posting updates, I like reading them, and I want to meet some of my future classmates.

I can't email you kingbird, in your profile it said that you didn't wish to be emailed, and I can't send you a Private Message. Let me know what your email is and I'll give you mine and I'll give you my blog address.

Congrats Falconflyer22!!! That's great! I think that I might try to convince my parents to let me get out to the Appointee Orientation as well, just to make sure it's the right decision and pick out the boots!! I have mine from CAP but I don't want those to be the boots I wear there... I've already put 5 years of mileage on them. Good 'ole Corcran (SP) II's!!
