I have never been a good artist... But I'm very interested in becoming a Civil Engineering major now... Will the art/ drawing skills affect my chances in becoming a good Civil Engineer or do I not need art? Also, if I need drawing skills, what kind of drawing skills will I need and how do I improve upon them? By the way, I'm very good with computers and all, so I don't want you to think I cannot design something on screen.. Its just paper and pencil I'm worried about.
Thanks for reading and replying.

It’ll hurt you if you want to become an architect but not so much a civil engineer. Having good technical drawing skills would be a plus though if you need to draw a sketch on the run.

Drawing is a skill that can be acquired. If you’re really worried, take a drawing course in college. It’ll force you to draw things as you see them, not how you remember seeing them, which is usually what trips up people who say they can’t draw.

Plenty of the civil and structural engineers I work with can’t draw a stick figure to save their lives, though.
