my assumption.

So as far as community college vs public college i thought...

Ok lets say you save some money going to CC the first two years and go to 2 year for your major at...UT.

On one of the forums(It was mine asking about EFC) they say that transfer merit and transfer schlolarship is low. Get about 5,000 (at the most) so you will have to pay about 15,000 a year right? Which is 30,000 for the two years your attending.

so 30,000
and the annual debt for UT is 20,000 for people who attend 4 years. so techincally, wouldn't you be saving 10,000 in the end? with more benefits on learning school system, experience, teacher and etc. Or is my theory totally wrong.

I know that debt doesn't consider one's family contribution, but that can be countered with more scholarship available for 4 year attending student, and one pays amount in cc. SO ....what do you think?

hook 'em

I'll go first I guess. My opinion is that you may want to think about this from other perspectives. If your goal is "cheap" then the GI Bill may be the best alternative. Too much of a time investment? Well how about two years CC and then join a company that will pay for your remaining college courses? Ah, but that pretty much kills off the college experience, doesn't it?

So what do you want from your college education? IMHO you should get that straight before thinking about saving a few bucks on this important part of your life. Good luck to you.

whats IMHO? and i'm going to UT as a freshmen.

In My Honest Opinion

or In My Humble Opinion. :)
