My Big HA-HA

A lot of people at my high school chose not to go to the CC because it's so looked down upon (or was, before the economy took a nose dive), even though they were rejected from schools like UCB and UCLA, and decided to go UCI or UCSD instead (they are of course great schools regardless). Then my sad ass had to run into them while working night shifts at Starbucks and get the sad "Oh, pity you community college goer" look.

I hope I run into them NOW...

Ahhh,
Revenge is so sweet.
:)

Well, where did you get accepted to?

redemption

UCLA =) maaah dream

I hope I do not run into highschool friends I do not talk much to anymore… them and their ivy league schools or equivalent and such >_<. But yeah some people do have their own reasons for going to a cc whether it be financial or whatever. Even my uncle went to a CC for a year and he is scary smart… went to UCLA for engineering, got a masters of MBA and MEE from USC, and Phd for EE at UCLA. People normally do look down on CC students by categorizing all of them as being stupid, but even many prestigious institutions of higher education you will always find idiots…yes even at CAL and UCLA and the big name private colleges.

I’ve experienced something similar. Hopefully I get in and run into those same people too.

=) Congrats! You should go TP their houses with UCLA toliet paper

It’s a lot harder to get into UCI or UCSD out of high school than it is to get accepted to UCLA out of a ccc.

^ Depends on what major and if the CC student used TAP or whatever

i don’t know about that

“It’s a lot harder to get into UCI or UCSD out of high school than it is to get accepted to UCLA out of a ccc.”

UCI is at a lower level than UCD…neither of which are difficult to get into out of high school…

Haha I never have people in my HS that look at CC goers that way :stuck_out_tongue:
The only people that does that is my Aunt, no idea why she thinks CC is a pos school o_O

Good rebuttal… I can see why you needed to edit that one LOL. Neither UCI or UCD is “easy” to get into out of high school, and especially not UCSD.

whoswithwhatnow,

I don’t know that that’s the case. I got into a number of UCs out of high school, and although my CC might have been an anomaly, I worked hard to get into UCLA.

OP,

I had a girl in high school tell me I’d never get into any school from a CC. I now have my BA from UCLA and MA from UCSD. I totally failed!

HA-HA to you, you missed out on fun dorm life and essentially “lost” 2 years…I went to a UC for first year, CC for 2nd year, going back to a better UC for 3rd

I mean…I met some really good friends which wouldn’t have been possible without going there freshman year

whoswithyourmom,

commenting on my editing…SCORE! you really are and idiot

I and D are easy out of high school, you probably wouldn’t know b/c you didn’t get in then…but i guess you’re just bitter now about not getting into your first choice school…no worries, I won’t tell anyone :):)

^^no editing…just for you whoswhithyourgrandma!

rccola,

I also lived on campus after I transferred and made great friends, so I’m not sure your argument holds.

LOL I was accepted at UCLA, and it’s not my first choice.
