my boyfriend's chances at Georgetown

He applied EA to georgetown... white male from Massachusetts

GPA: 3.45 unweighted at a very competitive school... he had a rough Junior Year and got some four B+s, but mostly, his grades are in the A range. If GPA were calculated for all four years, he'd have a 3.68 unweighted (plus, he's taking 4 AP classes now, so it would be much higher weighted)

SATs: 760v 710m
750v 670m 740w
750v 720m 780w
highest combined SAT score = 2260

SAT IIs 740 us hist, 760math i c, 690 bio
APs: 4 on US history

ECs:
Debate (9, 10, 11) - vice captain, then captain
Student Legislature (10, 11, 12) - very active student congressman
School Newspaper (10, 12) - submitted articles
Varsity Sailing Team (11, 12)
Youth Leadership Conference - getting a rec from the teacher for being an active member

Work Experience:
Hebrew School Work - 3 hours a week every Sunday, getting a recommendation from his boss
Volunteer Work at Hospital - 60 hours overall
Sailing Instructor - 1 summer

Recs - probably great, one of the teachers writing a recommendation LOVED him and is going to talk about how passionate he was about politics in her history class.

Essays - one essay about how a huge tragedy brought his family closer, all the others about his passion with politics and how everything he has done has related to the US government, which is why he wants to go to georgetown

Interview - friggin' awesome! He really bonded with the guy.

major: polisci (obviously)

do you think he can get in?

I think he has a good shot. IT would help if his GPA were higher, SAT Is are really good. Bio is a bit low, but besides from that I honestly think he has a good chance. I hope he gets in.

Isaaaacccc

ummm, whoever you are, could you please not tell him I did this? he hates college talk, etc... I think he has a great shot, but he might be irritated at me anyway.

Yah, no problem, Svetty. Although he does talk to me about college all of the time.

I'd say he'd be in at GT but there are so many other ED applicants applying from our highschool that it will make it much tougher. I know of at least 4 others.

wow thats weird.

Massachusetts ownzz.
It's a shame he is an ORM tho...

haha, now I'm dying to know who you are!

hmm, maybe dylan? will? I haven't seen your other posts, so I can't tell for sure. c'mon, I'll figure it out eventually, anyway. :-D

i'd say accept/waitlist. prrbly not reject

I'm going to go with waitlisted only because there are more qualified students from our school that are applying early and Georgetown is not likely to accept more than one or two students from the same highschool, especially during ED.
